July 27, 2006: it’s difficult to explain what intensity of emotions I felt, on that extraordinary opening night.
Our dream that turns into reality, giving concreteness and global visibility to a project that arises from the idea of enhancing the unique beauty of the enchanted landscape of Lajatico, the birthplace of an international artist such as my brother Andrea Bocelli.
The idea aims to marry the naturalistic suggestion produced by the colors and scents of a summer sunset, with other magic of an artistic nature, to create something absolutely precious, to be protected in its exclusivity and at the same time to be disclosed as a means promotion of a territory.
In a few weeks, with indescribable enthusiasm on the part of the first supporters, I remember that an Association was formed to manage the initiative. I took care of the adaptation of the site to use as a theater: an eco-architecture project based exclusively on modeling of the land, planting, arrangement of existing infrastructures, positioning of scenographic and artistic elements simply resting on the ground, realization of measures for the usability and safety.
All this, with the use of natural materials and absolutely reversible transformations.

To be integrated, for a few days a year, with everything necessary for the technical production of an international level show.

To be removed the same night after the end of the show, to restore the natural state of a place of silent meditation, rest, contemplation, remembrance … In the succession of the seasons, until the event of the following year.
Since the first edition of the Teatro del Silenzio, the scenic backdrop has been created in gigantic blocks of rough travertine resting one on top of the other, the base in the center of the lake for the installation of a magnificent sculpture as a scenography for the show and which changes for each edition. , the filling of the large lateral depression in “terra-armed”, the insertion of other elements that have allowed to leave a trace of the passage of the event on the territory and to guarantee the recognizability of the place for tourist purposes.
The international fame of the event grew exponentially right from the start. Already the following year, in 2007, the concert at the Teatro del Silenzio was recorded and transformed into a DVD of great international success.
